Orsalin ointment is manufactured by Hongkong Bright Future Pharmaceutical Factory, with Inn as compound Flumetasone ointment. It is exclusively distributed by Shenzhen Jian An Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd in China market, the same prescription as Locasalen® in Europe marketd by Novartis.
Orsalin was ever marketed in Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Belgium, Finland, Australia, Canada, and Germany, as well as Taiwan and Hongkong.
Compound Flumetasone ointment is composed of flumetasone (0.02%) and salicylic acid (3%), a locally applied steroid of medium intensity, also a synthetic glucocorticoid with function of anti-inflammation, anti-allergy, vasoconstriction and anti-hyperblastosis.
Salicylic acid in Orsalin ointment creates keratolysis and desquamation, promoting glucocorticoid’s penetrating the deep layer of corneum, enhancing the effect of glucocorticoid.
Orsalin ointment is applied to treatment of dermatitis seborrheica, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, local neurodermatitis, psoriasis vulgaris, lichen planus and palmoplantar keratoderma.
