Pagosid is extracted from the essence of African plant-Devil’s Claw, with another name of Harpagophytum. It has been applied as OTC drug for rheumatic problems in European countries as Germany, UK, France, Switzerland, Italy, etc
Pagosid has been widely accepted in clinic practice after further scientific research and clinic studies were performed. It has been included in Martindale the Extra Pharmacopoeia, British Herbal Pharmacopoeia and German COMMISSIONE.
Pagosid, extracted from the tuberous root of Devil’s Claw, used for Medicine, is manufactured by Dr. Dunner AG, Switzerland, exclusively distributed by Shenzhen Jian An Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. The active ingredients of pagosid mainly include hydrocarbon-glycoside, β-sitosterol, and multicarbonic unsaturated acid. Scientific studies prove that Pagosid produces better effects of anti-inflammation and anti-rheumatism than NSAID, having property of anti-oxidation as well.
Pagosid is widely applied in clinic treatment of various rheumatic diseases such as, ostarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, arthrolithiasis, rheumarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, mitigating arthralgia and arthrocele, improving function of muscle of joints. Secondly, Pagosid is also observed to relieve all sorts of pain without addiction.
It is concluded that Pagosid has the same therapeutic effects with NSAID without the gastrointestinal side effects, having better tolerance than Rofecoxib and Celecoxib without ADR of heart and kidney.
